Help trace 'black magic man' after indecent assault

POLICE investigating an indecent assault in Leicester hope people in Nottingham could help.

A 30-year-old woman was approached by a man in New Walk, Leicester, at 1.30pm on Monday, September 19 last year.

He offered to get rid of black magic and change her luck before touching her inappropriately when they sat on a grassed area.

Officers have received information that people in Nottingham city centre have been approached in a similar way.

An E-fit of a man police wish to identify and trace in connection with the incident has been released.

The man has been described as Asian, 40 to 50, and about 6ft. He was wearing a turban, dark grey trousers, a tunic and a black coat. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 4820 Claire Middleton at Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 2222 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

HOUSING SCANDAL UPDATE: LABOUR REJECT CALL FOR POLICE ACTION

In 2006 the Police agreed with the Council that any investigation would be left to the Council. It seems they decided that there was nothing to suggest anything criminal had taken place. But how and why did they reach that conclusion? Did they not read the auditors report?

In 2009 the Police said that nobody had given them any new evidence. Do they wait for people to come to them and give them evidence, or do they ask questions and challenge inconsistencies?

After 5 years no one has been held to account; no properties have been reclaimed and no one knows how many homes were allocated to people who shouldn't have had them. Labour claim that the Council has done all it can and that it is now time to move on.

Apparently, Labour have said that they were frustrated and disappointed that no one has been held to account and that no houses had been reclaimed. But there are widespread suspicions that the Police and Council may not have done all they could. The Council should manage its business in a way that is honest, open and beyond reproach. A full and independent review is needed if trust is to be restored. Labour voted against!

Consultation is not about deciding what to do and then asking people what they think.

5 Proper Management
An independent report in 2006 described the Council as dysfunctional. In past 10 years CE's have left the council with huge payouts, seemingly because they couldn't get on with the Labour leadership.

6 Housing Scandal
Council houses were given to people who shouldn't have had them. There has yet to be a police investigation to find someone who can be held accountable for this.

FAST FOOD JUNK MAIL SURVEY

Here is another mini survey of junk mail received over past 2-3 months:

40 fastfood leaflets (pizza & chicken, kebab, etc), 19 of which displayed the halal symbol.

Half of them were duplications 5 / 5 / 3 / 3 / 2 / 2 (5 domino pizzas, rest, bar 2 known hala.)

Of the 27 separate businesses, 19 were the usual pizza/chicken/kebab type outlets; 7 were indian (curry) themed & 1 was chinese.

Only 1 clearly offered fish & chips, along with kebabs, (but that business now appears to have ceased trading.)

Once it was a novelty to find an alternative to the traditional fish n chip shop, now, sadly, it's the complete reverse.

DERBY: Rapist is back on the streets after serving just 2½ years

A RAPIST who attacked five young women was released back into the community after less than two-and-a-half years, the Derby Telegraph can reveal.

Now Aleem Sheid is living back in the same area where he committed his crimes, despite twice breaching orders imposed on him since being set free.

The timing of Sheid's release came to light after he appeared in court for breaking conditions put in place by the police to closely monitor his movements and behaviour. 15/12

It is not known whether any of his victims have been told he is now free.

US officials name prime suspect for bomb plot as al-Qaeda expert

US officials say no one has yet claimed responsibility for the plot.

But they have said it bears the hallmarks of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).

One of the prime suspects is Saudi-born bomb maker Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri.

He is also believed to be behind an attempt to blow up a plane bound for Detroit on Christmas Day last year.

Explosives found on that occasion also contained Pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN).

Al-Asiri also helped make another PETN device for a failed suicide attempt against a Saudi Arabia's counter-terrorism chief last year. The official survived but the attacker died.

US deputy national security adviser, John Brennan, told an American news channel: "AQAP has been outspoken in its determination to carry out attacks. Yes, it certainly points in that direction."

MP: stab attack 'out of the blue'

Stephen Timms said Roshonara Choudhry's online radicalisation was 'puzzling and alarming'

An MP stabbed by a high-flying university student inspired by al Qaida has described the incident as like a "bolt out of the blue".

Stephen Timms backed calls for an overhaul of websites hosting terror videos as he said Roshonara Choudhry's online radicalisation was "puzzling and alarming".

Mr Timms was knifed twice by Choudhry at a constituency surgery in east London in May. She has been jailed for life for attempted murder.

The MP said: "My real worry about it all is that a very bright young woman with everything to live for would reach the conclusion that she should throw it all away by attempting to kill the local MP

"It is puzzling and alarming that she seems to have reached the conclusion by spending time on some website."

Mr Timms, 55, backed calls reportedly made by a Government minister urging US authorities to order American websites hosting terror videos to remove them.

Describing the moment he was attacked, he said: "I shouted out, 'What was that for?'. That was the last thing that I expected to happen and there was absolutely no explanation to me. She didn't say a word. It was a complete bolt out of the blue."

Mr Timms said the sentence was "appropriate" and added: "My main reaction is to be pleased and relieved it's all over, and gratitude to family and constituents who have been very supportive."

He said he had made "sensible arrangements" about his security in the future.

He said: "We have rearranged the surgery a little in the light of what happened but it is obviously very important for an MP to be accessible to their constituents and I am determined to continue to be accessible." 3/11/10

Pakistani officials say suspected militants in the country's south on Friday set fire to a convoy of tankers carrying fuel for foreign troops in Afghanistan. The attack came after the closing of a Pakistani border crossing in the northwest, following an earlier NATO airstrike in Pakistan. The events raise concerns about mounting tensions between Washington and Pakistan, a nation the U.S. calls a key ally in the war on terror. VOA's Robert Raffaele has more.

Flames roared from the tankers, after Pakistani officials say a group of gunmen set 27 vehicles on fire. No one was killed, but officials say a similar attack elsewhere left two people dead. Police arrested around 10 suspects in connection to this attack in the southern city of Shikarpur.

A day earlier, Pakistan shut down a vital supply route for NATO forces. Camera crews captured trucks and fuel tankers stopped by police at the Torkham border post in the Khyber tribal region. The bulk of fuel and other non-lethal supplies for NATO troops in Afghanistan moves through Pakistan.

Bygone Pubs on the northern city link road

The Park Tavern, near Cinderhill roundabout has now been flattened (as of December 2011), the bulldozing of this pub is probably to make way for residential buildings or another mosque or, perhaps, something like halal restaurant.
The nearby John Barleycorn, Nuthall Road NG8 was raised to the ground around 31/1/10 the previous year. It had been a part of the skyline for many years standing at the major crossroads with Stockhill Lane on the main northern route into the citycentre. Now, still, just a fenced off flattened space.

This may have something to do with an application, back in mid-July '09, by a Mr Kapil Lathia, of Asiana House on Blenheim Industrial Estate, who had applied for the temporary permission of a car wash at the John Barleycorn Inn, Nuthall Road. However, that was 'thought' to have been for just the carpark!?! (Not leading to total pub destruction!) Wtf they want another ruddy hand carwash facility run by a bunch of 'highly-skilled' immigrants when about 100 yards round the corner there's a converted Shell petrol station doing the same thing. I know of another 2 on the same road less than a mile further into the city. One of those is a 'temporary' setup in another pub's car park?!! The other one is hardly ever visited & all I've ever seen is a group of foreign-looking blokes sitting at a table either eating something or playing card games for hours on end.

Another victim of pub demolition, just across the road from where the John Barleycorn stood, was the Red Lion, demolished circa August '08. That was another long-standing building that had some interesting decor and period style brass lighting features plus a large attractive ceramic Red Lion fresco (done in a Roman-style mosaic, with large versions of tesserae blocks) above the front main entrance - now, still, just fenced off barren waste ground.

Then, of course, there was the Bass pub, Le Grand, on Nottingham / Alfreton Road now converted into the Al Majid mosque.

Going back a bit circa 1984 there was the Colliers (or Miners) Arms outside the Babbington Colliery near Cinderhill. It's demise was rapid once Margaret Thatcher (Con Party), the then Prime Minster with a privatisation agenda to destroy the mining industry went into full swing. After the pit was shut down the pub tried to carry on but, because of it's unique isolated location soon closed for good before being burnt down and the remaining roofless shell pulled down.

The Alma pub, 242 Alfreton Road has been shut for many years. After yet another year, the building is looking increasingly rundown.

Conrads has also been shut since Jan '08.

Defanagons, 154 Alfreton Road in now a Chinese restaurant.

Further along the road, the Generous Briton had been shut for years and was just a private dwelling, but is now converted into another type of Chinese food bar. Not far from there, the Queen Mary has been turned into a Premier convenience store. A little further, the Rose & Crown was made into student flats. Across the road was ''The bank'' that was changed into an arab restaurant, but, after yet another year, remains just an empty building.

Just had a bloke at the door asking if I wanted to buy raffle tickets for black orphans. I told him with my luck I'd probably win one.

I was feeling down earlier so I dipped my Muslim friend in bleach. I thought I'd try to lighten Mahmood.

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Danish police said on Saturday they shot and wounded a Somali man with al Qaeda links when he tried to break into the home of a cartoonist whose 2005 caricatures of Prophet Mohammad sparked global Muslim outrage.

The 28-year-old man, armed with a knife and axe, failed to get into Kurt Westergaard's home in the town of Aarhus late on Friday and was shot in the leg and hand after he threw the axe at a policeman, a police spokesman said.

The man, now under arrest, had "close ties to the Somali terror organisation al-Shabaab as well as to al-Qaeda leaders in East Africa," the Danish Security and Intelligence Service PET said in a statement.

The man, who had a legal residence permit for Denmark, was also "suspected of being involved in terror-related activities in East Africa," it said.

The security service said the man, who would be charged with attempting to kill Westergaard and the police officer, had been involved in a "terror-related network" that had long been under investigation in connection with threats to Westergaard.

"PET looks very seriously upon this case which once again confirms the terror threat directed against Denmark and the cartoonist Kurt Westergaard in particular," PET chief Jakob Scharf said in the statement.

Westergaard, 74, who depicted Prophet Mohammad with a bomb in his turban, was not hurt in the incident, a police spokesman said.

He said police were investigating whether the Somali man acted alone in the attempted attack at Westergaard's home, which is widely reported to be under tight security.

Somalian muslim pirates seize second UK-flagged vessel in days

A UK-flagged cargo ship with 25 crew has been seized by pirates off Somalia, media reports say.

The Asian Glory was taken 620 miles (1,000km) off the Horn of Africa nation's coast, the Bulgarian foreign ministry said.

The vessel, which has a multi-national crew, is the second UK-flagged ship hijacked in days, after chemical tanker the St James Park was seized on Monday.

The waters around Somalia are among the most dangerous in the world.

As well as eight Bulgarians, the other nationalities making up the Asian Glory's crew are said to include Ukrainians, Romanians and Indians.

British officials said there were no UK nationals on board the vessel.

The exact time and location of the hijacking are not yet clear.

The 13,000-tonne ship was reportedly transporting cars from Singapore to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

It is estimated the ship could take up to three days to reach the Somali coast, from where pirates usually hold ransom talks.

The St James Park, which has 26 crew from nine different countries, is currently anchored off the Somali coast, where negotiations for its release are expected to start.

Correspondents say the upsurge in piracy in the region is a consequence of the failure to find a solution to Somalia's continuing political disarray. (c) BBC News 2-1-10

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up in an SUV at a volleyball game in northwest Pakistan on Friday, killing 88 people in a village that opposes al Qaeda-linked Taliban insurgents, police said.

The bomber struck as young men played volleyball in front of a crowd of spectators, including elderly residents and children, near the town of Lakki Marwat, officials said.

The bloodshed will put President Asif Ali Zardari's efforts to fight the Taliban under greater scrutiny, pressure he does not need at a time when corruption cases against his allies could be revived.

"It's just a disaster. I can see flesh, bodies and wounded all around," Fazl-e-Akbar, a witness, told Reuters by telephone. "It's dark. Vehicles' headlights are being used to search for victims."

Local police chief Ayub Khan said the bomber blew himself up in his sport utility vehicle in the middle of the field. A second vehicle was believed to have fled the scene.

"We have removed all bodies and wounded from the rubble," Khan said, adding that 88 people were killed.

It was one of the bloodiest bombings in U.S. ally Pakistan since the October 2007 attack that killed at least 139 people when former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Zardari's wife, returned home from self-imposed exile.

An attack on a sporting event is highly unusual, but could be part of the militants' strategy of bombing crowded areas such as markets to inflict mass casualties and spread fear and chaos.

Nigerian Muslim tries to blow up Northwest Airlines airliner with 298 people onboard.

Abdul Mudallad, a Nigerian Muslim flying on board a Northwest airliner from Amsterdam to Detroit tried to ignite some kind of mystery powder and blow up the plane. He was tackled by some of his fellow passengers before the power could do whatever it was intended to do.

He has told investigators that he was acting on the behalf of Al-Qaeda.

Good thing there were some able bodied passengers on hand to give Abdul Mudallad the beating he richly deserved. It’s not like the flight attendants could have done it. If there’s one thing we learned on September 11, 2001, it was that flight attendants that weigh 105 lbs might be pretty to look at, but they are entirely unless when it comes to stopping a Saudi with a box cutter.

If it was up to me, I would have taken the billions of dollars TSA spent staffing pointless checkpoints and shoe inspectors and instead used it to pay former Army Rangers and other military types to be flight attendants. Not coffee. tea, or me type of flight attendants made popular in the 1950’s and 60’s, but flight attendants for the new century. Flight attendants that might not know how to make you a good Bloody Mary, but they would know how to kill you with a pencil.

FINLAND: MUSLIM MAN GOES ON KILLING SPREE

A borderless world means a borderless world of sexual jealousy and murder. The story comes from the AP:

ESPOO, Finland--A lone gunman dressed in black killed five people, four in a crowded shopping mall, before returning home and taking his own life on Thursday. It was the third such massacre in Finland in about two years, and once again raised questions about gun control in a Nordic country where hunting is popular.

Police identified the killer as 43-year-old Ibrahim Shkupolli, an ethnic Albanian immigrant from Kosovo who had been living for several years in Finland, and the national tragedy cast a pall over the nation's New Year's Eve celebrations.

Apparently distraught by failed personal relations, Shkupolli killed his ex-girlfriend, a Finnish woman, at her home, and four employees of the Prisma grocery store at the Sello shopping mall in Espoo, six miles (10 kilometers) west of Helsinki, the capital.

It was unclear whom he shot first.

The former girlfriend, who was 42, had also worked at the same Prisma store, and police superintendent Jukka Kaski said she had had straining order imposed on Shkupolli.

The Finnish newspaper, Aamulehti, wrote that Shkupolli allegedly stalked the woman for years and that she had complained to police about how he used to show up at the Prisma grocery store to watch her.

National Police Commissioner Mikko Paatero told the Aamulehti daily that it was unlikely the gunman had targeted specific Prisma employees but that police didn't know for sure.

After killing the four mall workers, the gunman fled the area and was at large for several hours. Police eventually found his body at his Espoo home, and Kaski said the cause of death was suicide.

Kaski said Shkupolli was an immigrant who had been living in Finland for several years.

Relatives in the Kosovo town of Mitrovica, where Ibrahim Shkupolli was born, expressed shock and grief at the news.

"Each time he came from Finland he came here," said cousin Islam Shkupolli, his eyes red from crying. "I am very surprised by what has happened. I knew him to be a very kind man," he said.

Relatives said Shkupolli had last visited in Kosovo in November.

"I can't say a bad word about him, and I know no one else can," said sister-in-law Nexhmije while standing on the porch of her home in Mitrovica, Kosovo. "There are no festivities for us tonight."

Back in Espoo--Finland's second largest city and known as the home of Nokia, the world's largest manufacturer of cell phones--the day started in chaos. Witnesses said panic erupted at the mall when the shots rang out.

"I heard two shots," eyewitness Mare Elson told state broadcaster YLE. "First I thought somebody had shot firecrackers inside the mall. But then I saw a man dressed in black running beside me with a gun in his hand."

Others said initial police instructions were confusing.

"The first announcement was to close the shop and get everybody out. Immediately after the first one, they announced you can reopen the shop again," mall worker Joonatan Hongel told Associated Press Television News. "But then five minutes after that there was an announcement to close the shops again and get everyone out."

Teemu Oksanen, a police constable, told APTN that police received information about the shooting just after 10 a.m. "The police took action and found four victims in the shopping mall--two in the first floor, two in the second floor," he said.

Hundreds of mall workers and shoppers were then evacuated to a nearby library and firehouse. Local train connections to the mall were halted, and helicopters whirled overhead as police launched a manhunt for the heavily armed killer.

Police later found the gunman's body at his Espoo home.

The gunman reportedly worked at a company called Inex, part of the S-Kedjan group that supplies the Prisma grocery chain. Amos Soivio, a colleague and neighbor, said Shkopulli was a "normal man who acted normally."

"Today I heard that he'd been on sick leave a lot lately," Soivio told APTN.

The Finnish news agency STT reported that Shkupolli was arrested for carrying an unlicensed handgun in 2003.

Finland, a nation of 5.3 million, has a long tradition of hunting and ranks among the top five nations in the world in civilian gun ownership. It has 1.6 million firearms in private hands.

In September 2008, a lone gunman killed nine fellow students and a teacher at a vocational college before shooting himself to death in the western town of Kauhajoki.

In November 2007, an 18-year-old student fatally shot eight people and himself at a high school in southern Finland.

Social workers and religious leaders have urged tighter gun laws, more vigilance of Internet sites and more social bonding in this small Nordic nation known for its high suicide rates, heavy drinking and domestic violence.

The Interior Ministry has unveiled proposals--including raising the minimal age limit for handgun ownership from 15 to 20--but so far they have been mired in fierce legislative debate.

Finnish President Tarja Halonen and Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen sent their condolences to the victims' relatives. In a brief message, Vanhanen noted the large number handguns in Finland and vowed that the slayings would be thoroughly investigated "with particular focus on the unlicensed gun and how the shooter obtained it."

The deaths prompted the city of Espoo to cancel a New Year's Eve concert.

Suffering is Near Its End

All the evidence shows that we are nearing the end of man's tragic experiment in independence from God. It has clearly demonstrated that rulership by humans apart from God can never succeed. Only God's rulership can bring peace, happiness, perfect health, and everlasting life. Do Jehovah's toleration of wickedness and suffering is nearing its end. Soon God will intervene in human affairs by destroying this entire unsatisfactory system of things.
Bible prophecy says: "In the days of those kings [human rulerships now existing] the God of heaven will set up a kingdom [in heaven] that will never be brought to ruin .... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms [presehe kingdom wiklnt rulerships], and it itself will stand to times indefinite.'' (Daniel 2:44) The vindication of Jehovah's sovereignty, his right to rule, by his heavenly Kingdom is the central teaching of the Bible. Foretelling a key part of the sign of ''the last days,'' Jesus said: '' This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.'' - Mathew 24:14.
When the end comes, who will survive? The Bible answers: "The upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth.'' (Proverbs 2:21, 22) The upright are those who learn Jehovah's will and do it. Jesus Christ said: "The means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the ones whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.'' (John 17:3) Yes, ''the world is passing away . . . , but he that does the will of God remains forever.'' - 1 John 2:17.

The Main Issue - Sovereignty

Why did God not destroy Adam and Eve and start over with another human pair? Because God's universal sovereignty, that is, his right to rule, had been challenged. The question was, Who has the right to rule, and whose rule is right? By extension, Could humans do better if not ruled by God? In allowing them enough time to experiment with total freedom, God would establish o9nce and for all whether they are better off under his rule or their own. The time allowed had to be long enough for humans to try all types of political, social, economic, and religious systems apart from God's guidance.
What has been the result? Thousands of years of human history tell us that there has been more and more suffering. In the past century, the human family has experienced the worst suffering ever. Millions were murdered during the holocaust. Over 100 million have been slaughtered in wars. Crime and violence are rampant. Drug abuse is epidemic. Sexually transmitted diseases continue to spread. Tens of millions die each year of hunger and disease. Family life and moral values have broken down everywhere. No human government has the answers to these problems. Not one of them has overcome aging, sickness, and death.
The human condition is just as the Bible foretold for our times. God's Word identifies our era as ''the last days'' of this system of things when "critical times hard to deal with will be here.'' And just as the Bible said, 'wicked men and impostors have advanced from bad to worse., - 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 13.

ALL SUFFERING SOON TO END!

At some time in your life, you have likely asked, 'Why all the suffering?' For thousands of years, the human family has suffered greatly from wars, poverty, disasters, crime, injustice, sickness, and death. The past hundred years have seen more suffering than ever before. Will all of this ever end?
The comforting anwser is yes, and very soon!
God's Word, the Bible, proclaims: "The wicked ones will be no more . . . But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
For how long? "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." - Psalm 37:10, 11, 29.
